Dancers: a Different Breed

We are trained to work at our maximum at all times. We stretch as far possible, jump as high as we can and can balance for extreme amounts of time. We are constantly corrected on the placement of every body part, conditioned in repetition and perfectionism, pushed to the extremes of mental toughness and resiliency, all while being told that ‘your body is your instrument and to treat it as such.’ Well how is that done? How do we, the dancers who have spent their childhoods and adolescent years sweating at the dance studio 5 days a week treat our bodies better?

By understanding our WHOLE bodies, thats how.

Developing a sense of mind and body wellness can be a trained one. We can channel our extreme physical work ethic and couple it with solid mindful awareness to create the healthiest versions of ourselves.
